Month 2 Niche Website Site Update – Project 24 Review

Hey guys, I hope you are all going well. If you don’t know all ready! if you are new here. I started a niche site on May 13th 2019, and for every month I am going to show you all my results and share with you along my journey to building my first ever profitable blog. It is still early days in the income progress and results for this. I am excited as I write this article as I am currently 7 or more months into this site and it is profitable and making money. But I will save those results until the seventh month site update. For now lets take it month by month and see how well this site grows. Remember if you have any questions, fell free to comment or message me, I want to help you!

Month two was during the time frame of June 13, 2019 to July 13, 2019 and these were the results.

Right off the bat I must mention that you have to expect many months of almost no traffic before you can expect and number growth. It normally takes Google about 8 months or so for it too rank your blog posts to be found in Google search. So make sure you have this in mind when starting your blog. You should really have a blog about your passion. This way you will not give up and keep writing despite not getting any results. If you are here to make a quick buck I suggest you leave! Because we are building legit businesses that require sustained growth over time. That is the key word here ‘over time’, it is going to take time. You should expect nothing for 6 months, not even a pageview! That is my advice to you.

So the numbers, well this month the site reformed worse then month 1. In the first month I got 1,112 page views and month 2 was only 792 page views.

June 13, 2019 to July 13, 2019

What work did I put into the site this month?

Keep in mind that the one task you should really focus on to growing your blog is writing content. This is what they teach in Project 24, the certain way they show you how to find keywords that are searched 1,000’s of times per month and there is almost no competition serving this keyword. Then that is you opportunity where you come in a write content. They teach exactly how to find these winning keywords in their course. Don’t get me wrong there are so many other tasks but if you focus manly on pumping out great, helpful and some of the best blog articles on the web around a searched term then you are well on you way to blogging success.

For this month I only wrote 9 blogs articles. In all of June I wrote nothing and from 3rd July to 13th July I started writing. As I reflect on this sites first few months I was not really working at all close to my potential. I was in a slump if I was to be honest, not making excuses here. Just telling you how it is.

One take away from my own mistakes. I would encourage you to start writing articles right out of the gate. In the course they teach you to write 30 articles in their particular way in the first two months. In the first month of the site I wrote 17 articles. So this put me at 26 articles at the end of two months, which I guess is not a bad effort. But now that I look back 7 months down the track (as I write this), I would be getting so much better results right now if I wrote more in these early days. And the results I how now are really good.

So if we look back on the first two months results for this site, above you can see the data. 1,831 page views and 591 users. It is also important to note that my results are not ‘normal’, well what i mean is that according to the Project 24 timeline (all included in their blogging course). States that I should have zero page views they expect you to have nothing at all.

Also at the end of the second month all the tasks you are expected to have completed is as follows.

  • A fully set up website, including recommended gear pages
  • 30 blog posts (10 each of response, staple, and pillar)
  • 10 YouTube videos
  • Site promoted on Pinterest
  • Amazon affiliate links on your site

If you have any questions about what some of the terms in this list means it is all explained in the blogging course. But for my YouTube channel that I setup for this blog I had only four videos uploaded back in May and early June. I didn’t even have any videos uploaded during the timeframe of this second month. Take note that I have another Youtube channel, my main one ‘Codey Orgill’ and I didn’t do any promoting on that channel to my blog YT channel.

One of the videos I did post back in May now has 2,500 views (as of December – 7 months later). I also have some exciting new on some other YouTube videos that I will have to save for the next few months to come.

I also had Pinterest account setup for the blog and with no pins uploaded in this month.

Setting Better Blogging Goals

My goal for this second month was to “better the monthly pageview amount. Maybe even try and get into the 2,000 pageviews for the month. The more pageviews the more money you make.” Well this did not happen, but I tried to not let it discourage me and more forward from here.

Another thing I learnt from goal setting when it comes to blogging, is to focus on hitting goals you have complete control over. Action orientated goals if you like. A great goal would be – To write 30 blog articles every month. This would be a better goal as you increase your changes of producing results that are going to give you better page views and all that. In the early days also you are just learning how to blog so you shouldn’t really trust you guess at how many pageviews you think you will hit for the next month. As you just don’t have the data over a few months to make predictions.

Here is some more data for the the second month. It is still very early on to be ranking for organic search, but the blog still managed to acquire 138 users this month.

Here you can see my top 10 best ranking pages on the blog for this second month. The (/) if you don’t know just means the home page. But the highest page with 129 pageviews was a review of a product that I have personally used and talked about my experience. This is also the blog post that I had filmed a YouTube video for. And I was getting people coming over form YouTube to the blog from this, which was great!

But as you guys can see the site is slowly making growth and I cannot wait to share with you some of the next months results from month 3 to month 7 you are going to love it!

My goal with writing these blog articles is so that you can look at my results and experience, to see what is working for me and also when I first started my blog I would have loved to had followed someones monthly results to get a idea as too where I should be or could be! So I hope this helps you out.
